Luong “Doc” Ho (Owner)

Hey y’all, my name is Luong, however I was given the nickname “Doc” very early in my career in which I have learned to embrace.

I began my automotive career at the age of 18 attending UTI Orlando while simultaneously working for an Asian manufacturer as a lube technician. From the beginning, my goal was to be accepted into the Porsche Technology Apprenticeship Program, a scholarship program that was paid for by Porsche the manufacturer after completing and proving yourself in the base program at UTI. Well that dream came true in 2008 when I attended PTAP in my hometown of Atlanta Georgia and also home and headquarters to Porsche Cars North America. I graduated top of my class and was gifted a trophy which I still have and cherish to this day. At the time, PTAP only held two classes annually and each class comprised of 12 students with a total graduation rate of 24 students anually making it the most difficult program to be accepted into since PTAP applicants are coming from every UTI campus across our country along with other accredited automotive programs from various other colleges and trade schools.

I then began my Porsche journey with the goal of eventually achieving Gold level technician which is the equivalent of a Master technician in other terms. I finally achieved Gold level after many years in January of 2014 thanks to my many mentors and strong male role models such as my service manager, foreman, and all the men I worked with at my Porsche center which was located in the greater Atlanta area.

My career has taken me many places and eventually becoming a Porsche Cars North America employee as a Senior Classic Porsche Technician which I consider as the pinnacle of my career other than the opening of my own Porsche shop. During my time there I specialized in working on the Carrera GT which also happens to be my favorite Porsche ever created. In my eyes it was the pinnacle of Porsche engineering and the last Analog supercar Porsche created.

Since the beginning of my career, my ultimate goal was to one day open my own shop and get a shot at the American Dream along with entrepreneurship. That day has come with the inception of Analog Autowerks located in Alpharetta Georgia.

What does “Analog” mean to me? As I am aging, I find new found appreciation and solace in the Classic Porsche’s and the history that comes along with that. Don’t get me wrong, the new Porsche line-up is faster and far superior in every facet compared to the more Analog Porsches of the time, however the newer model cars do not have the same character or soul of the air-cooled generation. There is just a level or rawness and visceral feeling you get when you crank and air-cooled 911 and hear the engine roar to life.

My goal is to keep these cars performing as they are designed to for my clients and for the future generation to enjoy as much as I have.
