Luong “Doc” Ho
Owner | Analog Autowerks
Hey y'all! My name is Luong Ho, but early in my automotive career, I was given the nickname “Doc.” Over the years, it's a name I've come to embrace, and one that has followed me throughout my professional journey.
My automotive career began at the age of 18, when I enrolled at Universal Technical Institute (UTI) in Orlando, Florida, while simultaneously working as a technician for an Asian automotive manufacturer.
From the beginning, I had one particular goal: to earn acceptance into the Porsche Technology Apprenticeship Program (PTAP), a highly selective, manufacturer-sponsored training program.
That dream became a reality in 2008, when I was accepted into PTAP in my hometown of Atlanta, Georgia, also home to Porsche Cars North America's headquarters.
At the time, PTAP conducted just two classes annually, with approximately 12 students per class. With applicants competing for admission from UTI campuses and accredited automotive programs across the country, earning a place in the program was an achievement in itself.
I graduated at the top of my class and received a trophy recognizing that accomplishment. To this day, it remains one of my most cherished possessions and a reminder of where my Porsche journey began.
After graduating, I set my sights on another milestone: becoming a Porsche Certified Gold Level Technician, the equivalent of a master technician in many other automotive organizations.
After years of dedication, continuous training, and hands-on experience, I achieved Gold Level certification in January 2014.
I owe much of that accomplishment to the mentors and strong role models who helped shape my career, including my service manager, shop foreman, and fellow technicians at the Porsche Center where I worked in the greater Atlanta area. Their guidance, encouragement, and willingness to share their knowledge made a lasting impression on me.
Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of working in several different environments, eventually joining Porsche Cars North America as a Senior Classic Porsche Technician.
That opportunity remains one of the proudest achievements of my professional life.
During my time there, I specialized in working on the legendary Porsche Carrera GT—a vehicle that also happens to be my favorite Porsche ever produced.
To me, the Carrera GT represents the pinnacle of Porsche engineering and perhaps the last truly analog supercar the company created. Its mechanical purity, engineering excellence, and unmistakable driving character embody everything I admire about the brand.
Yet even with these career accomplishments, I carried another dream from the very beginning: to one day open my own Porsche repair shop.
That dream has finally become a reality with the establishment of Analog Autowerks in Alpharetta, Georgia.
Why Analog?
As I've grown older, I've developed an even deeper appreciation for classic Porsche automobiles and the history behind them.
There's no denying that today's Porsche vehicles are extraordinary machines. They're faster, more sophisticated, and technologically superior in countless ways. But for me, there's something special about the character and soul of an air-cooled Porsche.
The mechanical sounds, the unmistakable engine note, and the raw, visceral sensation of bringing an air-cooled 911 to life create an experience that's difficult to replicate in a modern automobile.
It's that connection between driver and machine that inspired the name Analog Autowerks.
My goal is simple: to help keep these remarkable automobiles performing as their engineers intended, allowing their owners—and future generations—to experience the same joy and appreciation that have shaped my own life.
With over two decades of automotive experience, a career dedicated to Porsche, and a lifelong passion for the brand, I look forward to helping my clients throughout their Porsche ownership journey.
Welcome to Analog Autowerks.
